New Author website with "Birthright" item to buy!

This whole promotion thing when you publish a novel is all new to me, but yet, I've got it down pretty good though! One never knows that there is a whole lot more to writing a novel, then...writing a novel!! It doesn't stop when your manuscript gets published, nope. If you are self publishing no one is going to get your book out there unless you get out there yourself! Post your book on websites, bloggers, tweet it, make sure you have an author website and then post THAT! I just recently had business cards made for my novel, has my author name, blogger site, and where to purchase my book, but when I was ready to place my order for them, I got a mess of other things I could purchase with my business card logo printed on them! For instance, a cap, stationary, magnetic calendars, notecards, bag tote...etc. It was uncanny! So, I put a paypal button on my Author website and if anyone wants a calendar with my business card on it, they can! I am so loving this! LINK: htt

5 STAR REVIEW ON BIRTHRIGHT

This is so thrilling to get my first review and have it a smashing success already! Here is the review: Review by: Mary Deal on Apr. 20, 2011 : I first met Sue Mydliak online. When I read some of her short stories, I noticed immediately how she was able to include something quirky in them, action that crept up with a Gotcha! ending. Birthright, her breakout novel, contains such surprises. It’s a fast, smooth read. Vampire stories are not for me, but in Mydliak’s case, I made an exception. She was able to pack a full novel in under fifty thousand words. The emotions of her characters and the neck biting scenes are so sensual they could make a reader wish to be bitten! Birthright is full of those quirky surprises I’ve come to associate with Mydliak. I hope to see more novels from her as she learns and hones her skills. And yes, I will be reading the sequels to Birthright. (reviewed within a week of purchase)

I'm excited and so now starts my journey as a new author, planning on book signings when it comes out in paperback and loads of promotions (that starts as of tomorrow!) Birthright is on the countdown...sometime today!

I never thought this day would come, but it is and I'm thrilled to pieces!!! Even though I've already been an author, author of short stories, poems...I've never been an author of a book and now I am about too. When I am alerted to it being published I will announce it ALL OVER CREATION! Birthright stands alone, it really does. Its a Vampire Romance as I have said, but...there it so much more and even though this novel isn't very long, it's just the beginning to something more exciting and more intrigue than ever before. Candra starts out as the insecure young woman and by the end of the novel, is the epitome of a true Vampiress and something even more than that, but you'll have to wait till book two, which will be longer and trust me when I say this...more thrilling. So, buy my book and you'll see what I mean. You won't be disappointed.

Countess Elizabeth Bathory

In my research I came across Countess Elizabeth Bathory and found this person to be truly a horrific person. Deemed a Vampire in the sense that she drank and bathed in the blood of her victims, but she herself was not a "true" vampire in that she didn't have fangs and couldn't go out in the sunlight, etc. Elizabeth became pregnant as the result of a brief affair with a peasant man in 1574. When her condition became evident, she was sequestereduntil the baby's birth, due to her engagement to Count Ferenc Nadasdy. They were married in May of 1575. Since Nadasdy was a soldier, he was frequently away for long periods of time. This left Bathory with the duties of managing the affairs of the Nadasdy family estate, Castle Sarvar. It was here that Elizabeth's career of evil truly began, with the disciplining of the large household staff, especially the young girls. It was after her husbands death that she started in with her atrocities. One of her servants pulled

ATTENTION!!! GIVE ME YOUR IDEAS!!!

Ok, hear me out. I get all my great ideas while relaxing in a hot tub, so I came up with this idea. Candra is a very mysterious character, full of surprises not only to you the reader, but to herself as well! She has to still find out more about who she really is, her bloodline and will have to do some research and lots of traveling, this is where you readers and followers come into play! I've been coming on my blog, several times a day to check my stats out...zero for today...very dismal I must say. So in order to get my blog well noticed and ACTIVE I am proposing that I would like ideas from you as to ... What is Candra's bloodline? I want your thoughts, ideas! GIVE THEM TO ME!!! COME ON PEOPLE DON"T BE SHY LET ME HEAR THEM! And...if I find one that is spot on, I will use it, your name will be mentioned in my acknowledgements when the book is published! So I will keep posting this post to all my friends on FB and on Tweeter and hopefully it'll get out to

Opening Scene of Birthright...

Rose petals are my lasting memory of my parents. Like tears, they floated aimlessly down onto the headstone of their grave. Their smell wavered slightly as the wind blew them effortlessly about. I’d missed my parent’s funeral, they were gone and I would never see them again. Never hear my mother’s laugh or my father clearing his throat to get my attention. Nothing would ever be the same again. No one would ever know me and love me the way they had, no one would hold me when I was sick or care for me as if I was still a child. Alone and lonely I stood trying to feel their presence here, but I felt nothing except the dull ache of loss.

The Bloodline

Its hard enough to know your own bloodline. I'm learning new things about my own heritage, it keeps changing! My Grandparents came from Berlin to escape the War, WWII. I was always told they were German. They spoke German, told me bedtime stories in German. Then not too long ago, I was told they weren't German, yes, they lived in Germany, but were Polish, thus for leaving to escape. Nope. We've been been looking into Ancestry.com and found that my Grandpa Braun, who had come to America with my Grandparents, was Russian, and that they weren't German, nor Polish, but now Russian! Anyway, to make a long story short, the dilemma I face is trying to figure out Candra's bloodline, its hard enough to figure out a "real" one, little lone a fake one. I found it so confusing when I was writing Birthright that I had to keep going back into the earlier chapters to make sure I had the Greats and not the Greats given to the right names! Am I making sense? See

"The Legacy" Birthrights sequel...The Plot Begins

Candra now begins her long journey of figuring out her bloodline. Without spilling out too much of the storyline of Birthright, she and Kane must leave, and quickly. You will notice a change in their characters, she has matured much, and their love for one another has been altered, for the moment, but when you have so much at stake one cannot think of amorous thoughts, but there will be times when they will find it hard to keep their distance if you will. They will leave the country, to somewhere far away and Candra will yet find new things about her Kane that she didn't know of before, more interesting things that not only will appeal to her, but to those who wish to join them in their...battle. Yes, Birthright is a very interesting and intriguing story. Filled with mystery that takes you back in time and with each chapter the intrigue grows to such heights that at the end you think that's it, but no dear reader, its only the beginning, because you see the sequel, The Le
